FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What do I wear during my massage?

For a full body massage, outer clothing will need to be removed leaving only underwear.

Towels will be used to cover the body and remain modesty.

How long will a massage treatment last?

A full body massage treatment lasts approximately one hour. For optimal benefit and relaxation 90 minutes can be requested.

30 minutes is also available but this only allows enough time for a partial massage such as neck and back.

Please allow an additional 20 minutes to complete a consultation form and dressing time.

How often should I get a massage?

If you are looking for an occasional relaxation or general maintenance then every 3-6 weeks would be recommended.

However if you have a specific area you would like to address, frequency needs to be increased at first. Then gradually decreased until reaching the maintenance stage. Discussions and assessments after each session can be made together, once I've had a hand on understanding of the particular area.

Will the massage be painful?

A good massage, even a sports or deep tissue massage, will stay in the  'feeling good' hurt range. I will start the massage by warming up the muscles before going deeper, and I will always check in if you would like the pressure adjusted.

The most effective and deepest massage always works best working with the body's natural response and not against it.

What should I do after a massage?

After a massage most people will leave feeling relaxed. After a deep tissue massage you may be slightly sore the next day, much like after a gym workout.

After the massage session you should refrain from heavy lifting and alcohol. Try to have an early nights sleep and plenty of water to keep the body's tissues hydrated and help flush out toxins.

When shouldnt I have a massage?

There are a few instances that would prevent you from enjoying a massage.

You shouldn't book a massage if you have a fever, cold/flu, contagious skin infection, recently had surgery or are less than 12 weeks pregnant.

With some conditions its best to get approval from your GP before you receive the massage. it doesn't mean you can't get a massage but its best to act on the side of caution.
